Her Mentors
Building a Future for Women Across Canada
About The Program
Her Mentors is a program designed to support women from equity-deserving groups. We offer personalized, one-on-one mentorship to help women overcome both personal and systemic barriers that prevent them from fully participating in the Canadian economy.
This program began with a focus on newcomer women and has since expanded to serve women from across the country, regardless of their status. Her Mentors is more than just career advice—it’s about creating a supportive, empowering environment where women can gain the skills, confidence, and networks they need to succeed. By providing mentorship tailored to each woman’s unique journey, we ensure that their path to economic security is not only accessible but also meaningful.
Why Mentorship is an Effective Solution
Mentorship provides women with valuable guidance, tools, and connections that help them advance in their careers. It helps build confidence and offers support to navigate challenges, which opens up new opportunities for growth. Mentors offer personalized advice and help women create networks, empowering them to reach their goals. This makes mentorship a powerful tool for achieving long-term career success.

Our Approach
Driving Change with Targeted and Inclusive Mentorship
Strength-Based Approach
Our mentorship focuses on recognizing and building on women’s existing strengths, helping them foster self-confidence and resilience, rather than focusing solely on addressing deficits.
Holistic Support
Our mentorship provides emotional, relational, and career-related support, helping women navigate both professional and personal challenges, such as caregiving responsibilities and work-life balance.
Building Professional Networks
We connect women with valuable professional networks, offering access to industry contacts and opportunities that would otherwise be difficult to reach.
Evidence Based
The Her Mentors program was developed using data from comprehensive research, including 64 in-depth interviews and 147 surveys with participants, mentors, and staff across Canada to understand the barriers faced by women from equity-deserving groups.
Customized Guidance
Our mentorship is tailored to each mentee’s unique needs, providing customized advice and strategies aligned with their personal goals, skills, and career path.
Anti-racisit
Our approach is rooted in anti-racist principles, actively working to dismantle systemic inequalities in workplaces and society. We ensure that mentors are trained to recognize and address the impacts of racism, creating a supportive environment where women from marginalized groups feel empowered and valued.
