Outreach Worker | Alberta

The Women’s Economic Council (WEC) is a national organization advocating for women-centred community economic development (CED) in Canada. We are the only non-profit that supports networks of like-minded organizations that help women-centred CED flourish across the country. Our mission is to advance every woman’s participation in building resilient and inclusive economies, especially women who experience multiple systemic barriers. We achieve our objectives through consultations, networking, research and advocacy to understand and address the challenges women experience by creating ​​sustainable livelihoods.

Job Summary

Supervised by and reporting to the project manager, the Outreach works closely with the Mentorship Coordinator, volunteers, and researchers. As the Outreach Worker, you will be tasked with developing a relationship of trust with newcomer women in order to support them and connect them with WEC’s research project. The Outreach Worker will be responsible for recruitment, raising awareness of WEC’s project, providing outreach activities, and monitoring and recording clients’ progress.

The  Outreach Worker must be based in Alberta,  have knowledge of immigrants and refugees settlement services, be able to work with individuals with multi-barriers, have excellent interpersonal skills and be flexible to perform a variety of duties.
