Melanie Conn is a long-time feminist and community activist and one of the founders of the Vancouver Women’s Health Collective in 1972. She has continued to work in the community economic development and co-op sectors as a consultant and practitioner with a focus on women’s inclusion and economic security. Melanie is one of the founding mothers of the Women’s Economic Council and its current President. She is also on the board of Common Thread, a social enterprise she co-founded in 2008 for participants living with employment barriers to acquire industrial sewing skills and increase their income.
